Stems slender, much elongated underground, to 2 cm long, leafy, rooting at nodes. Petiole 2.5–8.5 cm long, base clasping.
Cauline leaves attenuate, rather thick, glabrous, 4–12×2.5–5 cm, 3–5-fid or parted; segments broadly elliptic, irregularly mucronulate. Scapes axillary from radical leaves, 7–9 cm long, 2–6-headed, loosely corymbose, bracts oblong, lower ones sometimes foliaceous.
Heads ca. 3 cm across, many flowered, erect; peduncle 1.5–6 cm long. Involucre tubular, glabrous, 10–11×7–8 mm, outer bracts rather prominent, longer than inner, inner bracts 6–8. Florets 17–20; corolla yellow, 15–16 ×2–3 mm.
Achenes fusiform, rounded to slightly compressed, brown, 6–7×*1–1.5 mm, beak 1.5–2 mm long. Pappus 6 mm long.
